Welcome to 2023

Colloquium

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

we hope that you have had a good start into the new year!

From our side, the well-known tradition of the World Theatre Training Institute AKT-ZENT will be continued: as always, we will start the year with a colloquium dealing with the latest research results of Dr. Jurij Alschitz

Quantum Pedagogy for Theatre

Fri 13 + Sun 15 January 2023 from 15:00 – 18:00 (UTC +1)  online

This colloquium offers a glimpse into the future for innovative theatre artists, teachers and educators.

While today we can no longer imagine a world without quantum technology – and yet have little idea of how the world of quanta manifests itself in the various areas of life, Jurij Alschitz applies its principle to theatre in a very practical way. With Quantum Pedagogy he developed a Quantum Training for tomorrow’s Theatre.

Here we show you some aspects of quantum training in short videos.

“This colloquium shares my findings in this new field. It is my answer to the rapidly changing world using the achievements of the science community to develop the art of acting and artistic creativity in theatre as highest category, which can then make use – if necessary – of all the technical attempts made so many.” (J.A.)

Quantum pedagogy applied means a total change of the individual perception; it implies the dis-function of the logic we have been brought up with, and therefore leads to a complete re-set of the mind. It affects artistic communication and creation. It is not about forming a good performer, but a creator. Quantum pedagogy is built on the relativity of knowledge and belief. Its effectiveness can be recognized only on the basis of subjective experience.

Quantum pedagogy provides the basis for so-called quantum training, the practical implementation of a rather abstract-seeming idea. In this colloquium we want to experience together how a changed perception of the world leads to other forms of artistic practice. Be it in the handling of text / material, in the form of rehearsal, or how forms of expression on stage could change.

Let’s meet to clear our heads and minds …

With best wishes for 2023
Christine Schmalor
