SOLO – the devised monologue
Your own project in the pipeline?
Vague idea, but no form yet?
Audition roles that need an update?
In search of your artistic energy centre?
Good reasons for the online course SOLO – the devised monologue in which the experienced drama teacher Christine Schmalor proposes first of all the self-empowerment of actors, which means being able to work with oneself confidently and with pleasure. Interesting ways and exercises lead to this, namely how to elicit one’s own creativity and enjoy it when it begins to bubble.
None of this is witchcraft, but a conscious exploration of the various issues – not only theoretically, but practically. Body, head, psyche need constant friendly stimulation and training!
SEARCH – CHAOS – ORDER
the creative process
In three joint online meetings, theory is combined with many practical exercises, each followed by individual coaching. It is also possible to register for only one topic or to watch the online meeting as a recording if you are unable to attend. The course is held in simple English.
This time we meet on Mondays in the evening (for the Europeans)
from 18:00 – 21:00 (UTC+1)
SOLO 1 – Above All – on 21 November
The artistic work with my theme. What is a theme in the first place and how do I open it up fully, in all dimensions, through an artistic process? How do I give my theme a voice? My theme ultimately reflects my artistic individuality – it’s a wonderful way to get there!
SOLO 2 – The creative mind flow – on 28 November
Unfolding a creative flow of thought goes hand in hand, above all, with the discovery of new patterns of language and thought. Let’s dare to think big for once, break dimensions, create chaos and develop playfulness in the creative process of intertextuality.
Freedom and boldness of thought can sometimes surprise you and give you the courage to perceive your personal philosophy as such and also to articulate it aloud.
SOLO 3 – Composition – on 5 December
Composition is an artistic language. In this sense, it is the compass and foundation for the creation of a monologue or mono-performance. The right understanding of composition promotes spontaneity and improvisation; it is the foundation for being able to act with confidence on stage.
See you!
