Programme March-April 2021

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

Our Online Theatre Academy has a lot to offer in the next months. We want to invite you to discover how the Director is improvising or how the Vertical of the Role can work as a true self-empowerment method for actors.

A new seminar series begins in March; we call it Sharing Secrets.
The Team of Teachers of the Online Theatre Academy asked Jurij Alschitz to open his treasure box as director and teacher to share his secrets – and he agreed to do so.
You may ask, why secrets? Are there not obvious tools to be learned? Yes, of course, but why actors follow Jurij Alschitz so happily, and want to work with him? Why they blossom after the first rehearsal and show most surprising results on stage? Why they need less and less instructions? Why the performance looks improvised while following quiet strict rules? Why …?

With the Sharing Secrets series, theatre practicioners have the unique opportunity to learn from the life-long international experience of a Master in theatre.

We would like to take the opportunity to send you positive energy combined with the wishes that you can realise your artistic projects in one way or another. Springtime ist coming!
Cordially yours Online Theatre Academy Team

05 – 07 March / 02 – 04 April / 30 April – 02 May
The necessity to combine frames of the clear strategy with artistic freedom and improvisatory nature of creation is a challenge for any director … Lets second-guess our knowledge of improvisation as merely acting tool and harvest the best fruits of its philosophical, cognitive and artistic possibilities to enrich the feast of directing visions, techniques and methods.

Sharing secrets

The Art of Analysis

We are as far from understanding the play and the role as we are from understanding the world around us. And yet the analysis of the play, the role or the text is a necessary matter. It is an Art, but it can be quite simple. There are just a few rules you need to know…
Dr Jurij Alschitz

The Art of Composition

5 + 12 + 19 April from 14 – 16:00
Composition in contemporary theatre is not just a technical form, but also a living one: it breathes, speaks to us and conveys the content of the play and the idea. The largest percentage of the success of a performance is based on a brilliant, dynamic composition of the director.
With this practice-oriented course, you can expect to learn a number of things beyond general school knowledge: about the many different types of composition, about secrets of montage and energy management, and how to approach theatre from a compositorial point of view.
Dr Jurij Alschitz

Due to the great demand last year Jurij Alschitz offers again:

Basis of Holistic Theatre: Theory – Methodology – Training

The application of the holistic principle in theatre requires in practice a change of consciousness and anchoring in a holistic mode of perception. This course is about the unity of the Theatre and its diversity – the complexity of so many facets.

THEORY – 27 + 29 April at 14 – 16:00
METHODOLOGY – 04 + 06 May at 14 – 16:00
TRAINING – 11 + 13 May at 14 – 16:00
