Dear friends and colleagues,
After a long break, the members of our umbrella organisation the International Theatre Institute – World Organization for the Performing Arts were able to meet again in person. The 36th World Congress took place from 20 to 25 February in Fujairah (UAE) and brought together over 250 theatre professionals from all over the world. It was a great emotional experience that will hopefully again bring forth many new collaborations.
For this event, some central texts by Jurij Alschitz were compiled into a brochure, which is freely available as a download or in print: Ideas – Concepts – Proposals
In this newsletter we would like to inform you about some new offers of the World Theatre Training Institute – such as a project from April to November in which Jurij Alschitz devotes himself to the many questions one can ask of a role. It is part of the ITI project World Theatre Training Library and provides online comprehensive research on creative work with a role.
Most importantly, there will be again an International Theatre Summer Academy this August, this time in Montecreto in the Italian mountains south of Bologna where art and nature will meet.
We are looking forward to the artistic exchange.
Christine Schmalor
programme director
Note: All online courses are recorded so that participants can watch each session again or catch up if they were unable to attend. All time information corresponds to UTC+1/ 2 summer time
After the successful Mastery of Professional Directing course, in which the topic of conducting rehearsals could only be touched upon but received a particularly strong resonance, Dr. Jurij Alschitz is now offering a more in-depth course: 5 Keys – Rehearsal Methods for Directors, Teachers and ActorsTable-Stage-Table-Method (15 + 17 March) The topics can also be booked separately.
