new programme for directing
World Theatre Training Institute AKT-ZENT / ITI

read in browser

Dear friends and colleagues,

A new 6-month directing programme with 3 online modules starts at the end of May. Perfect for complementing projects, studies, etc.

Take advantage of our early bird offer now – if you register by 15 April – so that we can offer colleagues the most affordable option.

All information about the programme

What is special about this new school of directing?

Jurij Alschitz enables participants to become professional directors in just 3 steps based on the quantum pedagogy he has developed. The three steps and their topics correspond to the logical structure of director preparation:

The Director Prepares – The Director’s Tools – Rehearsal Methods

However, the course will lead into the world of non-linear, illogical, holistic and ultimately artistic-creative forms of learning. All topics are covered at the same time, thus training the so-called spherical view. In this way, all methodically relevant questions are conveyed that are necessary for preparation and planning, for the artistic strategy of leading actors.

Over the course of 6 months, in the best case while working on own projects, the students receive continuous impulses; during the online seminars and as concrete tasks that can always be applied immediately in practice. Here, a master of directing not only passes on his valuable experience, but above all encourages the creation of new individual methods on a professional basis. Jurij Alschitz’s extensive knowledge serves as a source of creative energy.

To whom is the School of Directing addressed?

To anyone who has decided to enter the directing profession.

To directors, theatre teachers and dramaturges who already have experience in their profession but want to acquire more technical skills.

To actors and actresses who want to change subject or gain a new perspective on their art.

What contents are taught?

Jurij Alschitz will go through all the stages of creating a performance: from the director’s independent work in preparing the image of the play, its idea, theme, style, etc., work on the text of the play, the laws of stage analysis of the text, the rules of selecting actors, rehearsal methods, etc. You will be given all the basics of the art of directing, which you will then have to develop further on your own. This is a life’s work. In other words, the course gives you a solid starting point for your independent journey into directing.
