starts online on 5 April.
The Vertical of the Role is a comprehensive method developed by Dr Jurij Alschitz for the actor’s self-preparation. It is the central tool for surviving artistically.
Isn’t it usually like this: either the director talks too much into you or offers you too little. As an actor, I either have to constantly change colour like a chameleon to act within a certain vision of theatre or I’m left alone with my script on the film set…
Does it make sense to complain about that? No. Simply develop your own “standing” and deal with all these things wisely and creatively and you will become an artistically sought-after partner!
Since no one has time for long workshops – and the development of a Vertical of the Role, as well as the development of your personal artistic vertical need time – I offer a perfect mix for this project:
The first step is easily possible online: within a reasonable period of time from 5 April – 21 May, 8 group sessions will accompany your own intensive work step by step: the creation of a Vertical of the Role, i.e. your own monologue. In addition, each participant will be individually supported in this process with 2 consultations. You can complete the course with this step and have learnt the way to compose a Vertical. However, there is a better option:
In the second step, we will meet for a laboratory from 15 – 22 June in Ibiza.
Well prepared, we will be able to realise the Verticals on stage. This requires specific training. Why is that? The decisive aim of this methodology is the ‘vertical play’: I connect my body, my voice with words, themes, ideas in such a way that my acting ultimately leads to a moment of individual, higher cognition. Can I connect ‘vertically’, spiritually with the ‘light’ through the power of my acting? A real self-experiment.
In addition, every successful Vertical has the potential to become a mono-performance.

course fee 320 € incl. e-book “The Vertical of the Role”

Conditions/costs: no seminar fee, the flat rate for shared expenses depends on the number of participants. Travel and simple accommodation (30€ per day), self-catering in shared kitchen.
